ATTENTION ALL PHILLY YOUTH POETS!!!

We are now taking submissions for our first Philly Youth Poetry Anthology!

Deadline EXTENSION: October 1, 2010

Who can Submit?

- Any youth poet who lives in Philadelphia may submit.
- This includes anyone who has been or is a part of PYPM, has attended poetry workshops in the city, has attended/participated in teen night at the Rotunda or other youth poetry nights, and anyone who is on the Philadelphia Youth Slam Team or has been on the team in past years.

General Format

- Submit one to three poems.
- Poem should be final draft, edited versions. This means you must check for all spelling errors, include line breaks, and punctuate as necessary. Please do not submit poems that are not final draft quality!
- All poems are subject to editing. This includes changes in terms of spelling, punctuation, and line breaks.
- Poems should be individually typed either single- or double-spaced on one side of the page.
- Your submission should be no longer than 6 pages in length.
- Poems can be emailed as an attachment (.doc only) or copied directly into content message box.
- The email subject heading should include your first and last name and “Anthology Submission.”

Contact Information / Biography

-Please include your contact information and a brief biography with your submission.
- This should include your first and last name, age, email address, phone number, the name of your school, and any other information you would like to share about yourself. This information should be brief.

- All submissions are due by October 1, 2010.

Notifications

- Once we receive your submission, you will receive an email notifying you that we have received your poems and are able to access the files you have sent.
- All poets whose poems are selected for the anthology will be notified upon the completion of the selection process.
- Please give two months before inquiring about your submission.
